Trip Summary

This tour brings together the essential highlights of Manu Amazon with a practical itinerary, guided assistance, and enough flexibility for photos, rest, and local discovery. It is ideal for passengers who want a complete experience with clear planning before and during the trip.

DAY 1 Cusco - Cloud forest - Bambú Lodge

We leave Cusco by private bus, first stopping to visit the pre-Inca burial towers of Ninamarca. We then drive through the mountains, to reach the typical folkloric village of Paucartambo. Here we will have a short walk through the town before continuing to Tres Cruces, the highest point and the entrance to Manu National Park. From here we will continue to the Cloud Forest and in San Pedro we will walk for approx. 1 hour to observe the national bird of Peru, the cock of the rock and many different types of monkeys, plants and flowers. Finally we will arrive at Pilcopata where we will spend the night at Bambu Lodge.

After breakfast, we will walk in the jungle to see parrots, small monkeys and visit the coca plantation after taking the boat to our next lodge, Soga de Oro, appreciating the flora, fauna and the different types of mammals and birds, e.g. red howler monkey, collared peccary, white-lipped peccary, black spider monkey, egrets, herons, cormorants, medicinal trees, giant trees, etc.

After lunch, you will have time to swim in the river. In the afternoon and evening we will walk in the jungle and visit the Machuwasi Lake and use a raft, which will give us the opportunity to see many different types of wildlife and the beautiful sunset. In the evening we will have the opportunity to see caimans. For dinner, we will have a campfire and some drinks.

This day, we will hike in the morning to see giant trees, medicinal plants, orchids and some large mammals like tapirs, we can enjoy beautiful sunsets on the trip to the Manu jungle. We will cross the river in the afternoon and walk for about 30 minutes to Machuwasi lake, we can observe the largest rodent in the world: the capybara caimans (Hidrochaeris) and hundreds of birds at night we will observe frogs, toads, insects, bats and snakes. we sleep in a typical hut with showers and shared bathrooms.

Early in the morning we take the boat for 20 minutes, going down the creek to see the parrots lick clay, we will observe green parrots, blue-headed parrot (Pionus Menstrus), mealy parrot (Amazona farinosa), chestnut-fronted macaw (Ara severa) and some others, returning to the lodge, we pack after breakfast, the boat will take us to the port of Atalaya. Our bus will be waiting to take us back to Cusco city.
