There are 5 Tour Guide Associations in the Machu Picchu district, each made up of professionals dedicated to providing guiding services at the Inca llaqta of Machu Picchu. These guides — properly trained, certified, and with in-depth knowledge of the history, culture, and biodiversity of the region — offer visitors an enriching and informative experience throughout their tour of this emblematic archaeological site.
Each day, association members strive to ensure that tourists receive a quality service, sharing not only the historical and architectural aspects of Machu Picchu but also stories of local traditions and the cultural significance of this ancient civilization. Their commitment to excellence and attention to detail allows visitors to immerse themselves in the cultural and natural richness of the site.
The Tour Guides Associations also promote the ongoing professional development of their members, ensuring they stay current with best guiding practices and sustainable tourism management. Through collaboration and teamwork, guides seek not only to improve the quality of their services, but also to contribute to the sustainable development of tourism in the region — benefiting both the local community and the travelers who come to explore the wonder of Machu Picchu.
